What is Acupuncture?

The ancient art of acupuncture, which fine needles are placed upon certain points along the body to help achieve balance. In combination with Chinese medicine and botanicals, the ideal balance of yin and yang can be achieved. Acupuncture is an ideal treatment for essentially any condition from sports injuries, chronic pain, cancer, chronic diseases, headaches, migraines, anxiety, panic disorders, PMS, the common cold and over all immunity support. Sometimes a patient only needs one or two treatments to reach improvement in their health, but for more chronic conditions a series of therepeutic treatments maybe needed.

What can I expect?

Your initial Acupuncture consultation typically takes an hour of time, and will include a complete health history. There is some paperwork, so we advise you to arrive about 15 minutes early to fill that out.  The rest of the time is spent WITH the acupuncturist, talking about all your history, lifestyle and more! Then you are led to a room where you will lay on the table and the acupuncturist will then place several tiny needles into your skin. You may feel a little poke upon the needles entry, but that feeling usually goes away in a matter of seconds. The lights will be dimmed and you will be able to relax, and often fall asleep. Then the acupuncturist will return, remove the needles, and ask several question about how you're feeling. They will talk to you about future care and what else you can do to maintain or increase your overall health.
